Reno - If you're in love, then Get Married
Reno is often described as a small Las Vegas and these cities share a lot of things in common. There are casinos galore (like Circus Circus), bright lights and lots of little wedding chapels spread all over the city, particularly around Virginia Street. Because there are so many chapels, you really don't have to hang around if you want to get married. You can get married in around 30 minutes, even when you turn up quite unannounced. If you do want to be married, you will need to be at least 18 years old and require one or more witnesses.

Hot August Nights in Reno
This musical extravaganza takes place here every year in August and when it does, you are transported back in time to the 1950s and the 1960s. Cars from those periods arrive in their thousands - it was an incredible sight to see them all lined up - a great photo opportunity for me and I snapped away. A lot of the cars drove away Reno in convoy and there were plenty of tribute acts to bands of that era, with a definite Mowtown vibe. We partied that night away to the Beach Boys numbers.

Driving Outside of the City
If you have rented a car or driven here, then you should drive outside of Reno and check out the stunning scenery. There are lots of gas stations if you need to fill up your tank. The Sierra Nevada can be simply breathtaking.
